Anamargret’s class is a Hatha Vinyasa class that is meant to connect you to your body and mind. Each class is sequenced to incorporate various aspects of yoga- poses, breathing and guided meditation. By using the alchemy of the different limbs of yoga students are taken safely through a journey of self exploration and self realization. It is suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners.
Anamargret’s mission is clear: to share the light of Yoga. She was initiated into the Himalayan Tantric lineage by her Guru Yogarupa, Rod Stryker, founder of Para Yoga and is a Level 2 certified Para Yogi. Her continuing education also includes extensive study with Manorama (director of Sanskrit Studies) in mantra, philosophy and Sanskrit. Through the grace of yoga she has been privileged to study with many other teachers that have helped transform her life. This includes training in India at KYM, the Viniyoga school founded by T.K.V. Desikachar and being certified as an advanced restorative yoga trainer by Judith Lasater. Presently she’s working on becoming a certified yoga therapist through the Pranakriya school. She has trained many teachers and is a faculty member of the Himalayan Institute. In addition to group classes she teaches workshops, leads retreats and has long term private students. Her classes are strong, fun, compassionate and create the space for students to shine in their own light. One of the biggest joys in her life is her little sister Chandline who has taught her how to smile from the heart.
Fusion Flow Yoga
For all levels. Beginners will focus on basics while advanced students will have opportunities to deepen their practice. The class combines various types of yoga Ashtanga asanas (postures) and kundalini kriyas with a vinyasa flow.
My practice of yoga began in my early twenties at FIU (2004). I remember hating yoga when I started, it was so painful physically and an emotional rollar coaster. I kept going, I kept practicing and kept studio hoping from Bikram yoga to vinyasa classes. Then I found Mysore Ashtanga Yoga. This became my 6am ritual, my sanctuary. My life began to shift away from my old unhealthy ways as I naturally wanted a healthier way of life. In 2010 I got certified as a teacher with Ashley Cummings at Just Breath Yoga. I started teaching in public schools and to girls in Little Haiti. Today, my years of yoga has given me the confidence, grace and body awareness to begin a new path as a dancer. When not dancing and teaching yoga, I’m at the Earth and Us Farm keeping kids connected to the earth!
